Terms of Service

The contract between you and SymaOS when you sign in or use any SymaOS surface.

Draft document

This text is an engineering placeholder pending review by qualified legal counsel. It is published so SymaOS can be evaluated end-to-end before public launch, but it is not legal advice and must not be relied upon for production decisions. The launch gate (SYMAOS_LEGAL_APPROVED=false) keeps public signup, paid plan activation, and App Store submission blocked until lawyer-reviewed versions ship.

Effective date

June 12, 2026

1. Agreement

By signing in to SymaOS, connecting a provider, or using any SymaOS API, you agree to these Terms. If you are signing in on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. Account and identity

A SymaOS account is a single canonical user record. You may attach multiple identity providers (Google, Microsoft, Apple, magic link) but they all resolve to the same account, governed by the same plan, data set, and audit log.

You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and any actions taken under your account. Contact security@symaos.com immediately if you suspect compromise.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use SymaOS to violate any law or third-party right.
  • Bypass approval gates, attempt to send sensitive provider writes without explicit user consent, or impersonate another user.
  • Reverse engineer, probe, or load-test the service except under a written agreement.
  • Use the service to generate, store, or distribute spam, malicious code, or content that violates applicable law.

4. Billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe. By starting a subscription you authorise Stripe to charge the payment method on file at the price and cadence shown at checkout. SymaOS never stores raw card data.

You may cancel at any time from the in-product billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for unused portions of a billing period except where required by law.

AI features carry usage limits expressed in cost-based credits. When the limit is reached we will throttle the AI feature, but core read, planning, and approval flows continue to function.

5. Third-party providers

SymaOS connects to providers you choose (Google, Microsoft, Stripe, AI vendors). Your use of those providers is governed by their own terms. SymaOS is not responsible for outages, billing disputes, or policy changes by upstream providers.

6. Service availability

SymaOS is provided on an "as available" basis during the launch period. We will publish a status page and incident history before general availability. There is no contractual SLA until a paid plan with an explicit SLA is offered in writing.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete account or the DELETE /api/account/data endpoint. Deletion revokes sessions, disconnects integrations, cancels active subscriptions at the period end, and removes user data on the schedule published at /retention.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially violate these Terms or applicable law. We will provide notice unless doing so would prejudice an investigation.

8. Disclaimers and liability

SymaOS does not provide legal, financial, medical, or tax advice. Outputs are produced by software and may contain errors. You remain responsible for any external action you choose to approve.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SymaOS' aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms is limited to the amount you paid to SymaOS in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We exclude liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SymaOS is incorporated. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless a mandatory consumer-protection forum applies.

10. Changes

Material changes will be announced in-product and via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
